Appalachia Church Planting

Appalachia is 200,000 square miles of natural beauty, musical wonder and colorful history. Ironically, this stretch of wealthy natural resources and talent is perhaps America’s primary example of generational poverty and drug abuse. It is sad, but true that this mountain home to much Christian religion is drowning in a sea of immorality, drug abuse and broken homes. Something must be done about it. Taking a multi-generational approach GoodSoil’s founders and staff have settled in the mountains, intermingled with its people, and begun to discern and impliment solutions to Appalachia’s painful spiritual and physical ailments. Evidence is overwhelming that Appalachians are aware of their needs and open for change, though a large scale harvest may not be born for one or two generations. GoodSoil’s goal is to ignite a Biblically sound Christian movement among Appalachians. Our first church plant is both a first in kind and a first in series. Recruiting and training of more missionaries for Appalachia’s redemption is chief among GoodSoil’s long term vision and current goals.
