I had only heard of Steve and his walk of faith when I first called him. I got straight to the point. I was a nervous wreck as a minister myself, wondering if God would provide for my family and I financially. Steve told a few stories of God's provision for him, and encouraged me in my walk. That was several years ago, and I haven't had to call him about it since. If God can provide for George Muller and Steve Meeks, He can provide for me. He's proven faithful. I have since taken my family to the GoodSoil Farm for personal refreshment, and have been overly satisfied with new energy. Steve has also become a spiritual mentor in both missiological and personal matters that have proven to be positively life changing encounters.  Just his reading recomendations have revolutionized my marriage (which was in disrepair) and my child training techniques.

Stephen and Donna obviously made a huge impact on me. On the very first mission trip to Jellico, I got to live with them and see how their whole family was focused on Jesus. Since I had started following Jesus not long before I met them, this was my first time to really see a strong Christian family. I was amazed at how genuine they all were whether it was at home or in the community. Their actions, which were followed by incredible stories of faith, taught me so much about truly living for Christ. After that, my heart was drawn back for an internship and then an apprenticeship. Through those times I learned the wonderful joys and incredible struggles which are experienced when one steps out in faith to do mission work. I also learned several practical elements of missionary life, how to understand cultures, and the importance of self-care.I cannot thank them enough for the role they had in shaping where I am today.

On Missions: My time with Steve and Donna was life changing, both for Ali, a friend of mine, and me. Ali recently gave her life to Christ after attending a Discovery Bible Study that I was facilitating. The Meeks taught me this Bible Study technique, and the Lord has used it powerfully to His glory! I feel that at least one more voice will be praising our Lord in heaven because of what God taught me through Steve and Donna, and for that I am so thankful!

On Personal Growth: God used time with Steve and Donna to transform how I view meeting with God. We cannot change our hearts. We get into God's presence, and He transforms us. Jesus Christ frees us from the "sin that so easily entangles"; our own will power is much too weak to free us from anything. I do not have meeting with God perfected, but God has blessed me with a good track to follow from Steve and Donna!
